Don't know if I have infection with in surgical inscision?
I had surgery in late august for to repair a broken 5th metatarsal. First surgery did not work. This time she put screws and plate and bone graft. When the cast came of this week (8 wks post surg) the incision had apparently not healed completely. The doc debrided it. I didn't know if this was from an infection or not. All wknd I was really hot and sweaty and now I have a low grade fever. I'm not as hot today but it's still running about 99.5 (I usually run about 97.5) Should I call the doc or just wait it out?
Call your doctor, especially since you're running a fever. It can't hurt to call and explain your symptoms. Your doctor will let you know if you need to come in or if it's something to just wait out.
